Ghana’s number 1 investigative journalist, Anas Armeyaw Anas, is back to his work exposing the seedy underbelly of another sector of Ghanaian society.
Anas’ latest exposé, which premiered today, Wednesday February 27 2019, targets the illegal mining sector, or ‘galamsey’ as it’s more popularly known.
Galamsey is a problem that has been plaguing Ghana for a long time and despite pledge after pledge, many successive governments have not been able to solve the issue.
The current NPP government even went as far as to set up a task force to tackle the issue, but it remains unresolved.
Anas therefore decided to do what he does best, which is to go undercover and fish out the ‘big men’ involved in the industry.
The part 1 of the video, which was premiered today, fingers a presidential staffer involved in galamsey dealings when his boss is supposed to be stamping it out.
