Ghanaian artiste, Samini has earned a nomination at the International Reggae & World Music Awards (IRAWMA).
‘My Own,’ off his recently released ‘Untamed’ album was nominated in the ‘Best Video Category’ at the 37 edition of the awards scheme.
He previously won ‘Best African Entertainer‘ during the 2010 edition.
‘Untamed’ was released on December 22, 2018.
It was named ‘Album of The Year’ in a poll conducted by ReggaeVille, the biggest gathering of reggae lovers on the internet – making Samini the first African artiste to win the bragging rights.
The ‘My Own’ act took the top spot ahead of projects by the likes of Stephen Marley, Protoje, Kabaka Pyramid, Mr. Vegas, Agent Sasco, Ziggy Marley and Spice.
It debuted at number 8 on the Billboard World Music Chart.
Samini won Best African Act at the 2006 MOBO Awards, and Best Performer at the 2009 MTV African Music Awards.
