It looks as if the way we see our legendary highlife artiste, Charles Kwadwo Fosu aka Daddy Lumba, that is not how his colleagues in the music industry see him. Most of them do not say good things about our superstar.
Apart from Ofori Amponsah who disclosed that he enjoyed doing music with Daddy Lumba, we have never received any positive testimonies about the Highlife legend, Daddy Lumba as far as collaborating with other artistes is a concern.
Some musicians like Dadda KD and Isaac Kwadwo Ampong, otherwise Great Ampong whom Daddy Lumba joined him to in bringing out their “Hossana” gospel song, never said anything good about him
However, another musician who doubles as a sound engineer, Kwadwo Opare-Addo aka Voltage has also revealed that all the numerous songs he has done with Daddy Lumba over the years, if it’s today that Lumba is bringing his share of the money, he has no idea and all efforts to reach the man for his due have been futile.
Getting a chance to express himself on Onua FM, ‘Voltage’ advised the upcoming artistes to be very careful when dealing with Daddy Lumba because he is a hypocrite, ungrateful and a dangerous man.
“I had respect for him that is why I worked for him. So after work, I told them I am travelling and when I come, I will tackle that issue. When I work for senior musicians, I don’t charge them. I prefer they mention an amount to be offered to me but Lumba did not appreciate what I did for him, because since the time I worked for him up till now, he has never called me, and anytime I call him, the wife picks the phone.”
“He is not the only one. Some of [the senior musicians] are also hypocrites. Most of these legends are hypocrites. They are hypocrites and parasite. They just laugh with us.”
“I have done more work for people that I did not take money from because I am not money conscious. Working with these guys helped me. It grows me as an artiste, but the elderly musicians are cheating on the younger ones which is not right,” he bemoaned.
