Earlier this year, during the Easter festivities, Shatta Wale made some history when he performed to approximately 31 people at a show held in Kwahu to commemorate the occasion.

Now Kwahu Easter events are some of the most anticipated shows of the year and Shatta Wale presumably has one of the biggest fanbases in the country, therefore drawing the same number of fans to a show in Kwahu as Patapaa could muster on his European tour seems highly problematic.

However, according to the event organizer who put on that show, he has realized that Shatta Wale is not worth the huge amounts he charges for shows because his SM fans are mostly broke and cannot afford even the cheapest priced tickets and are always looking for free shows.

Speaker on Abusua Fm, the promoter said the kind of music Shatta Wale does attract fans who cannot afford expensive tickets.

“…In terms of paying ticket of GH¢ 50 and GH¢ 80, Shatta’s fans can’t,” he said.

“This is because when it comes to Shatta’s people they might be 18 years or below or 20 years who would want to pay GH¢20, GH¢ 30 GH¢ 15 or GH¢ 5 and all that. That I agree with you and of course moving forward as event organizers we will have to check all those things,” he added.
