Rapper Kula Wins VGMA Unsung Category

Ghanaian rapper Kula has won the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Unsung category.

The category is meant to reward upcoming talents, with the winner getting the chance to perform on the main stage of the VGMAs.

Kula beat MTN Hitmaker winner O.V, Mantse A.Y, Unyx, Efe Keyz, Mr Drew, Scrip T, and Lycon to win the unsung Category.

After winning Kula stated years of hard work had finally paid off. 

“Years of Hard work, Consistency, Dedication & Persistence paid off. Thanks so much for the Love & Support. I really appreciate It. ” Kula wrote

He will now perform alongside Sarkodie, Samini, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy on stage at the main event come May 18 at the AICC.

Kula is an independent Artiste who gained social media fame after touring the country to sell his CDs in other to finance 2 music videos he wanted to shoot. 

Born Fredrick Mattey on June 17, 1990, Kula is a graduated of Ho Polytechnic currently Ho Technical University with a degree in marketing and is the host of Lyricist Lounge on Accra based urban radio station YFM.
