Efya, Sarkodie, Samini and Shatta Explain Why They Deserve VGMAs Artists of the Decade – Who Wins It?

VGMAs 2019 is almost here, and the race for Artiste of the decade seems to be out pacing the rest of the Categories at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

Stonebwoy has opted out of the race, pushing his support for Samini, but many fans on social media believe Sarkodie deserves Artiste of the decade. Others to are making a case for Shatta Wale like Film maker Socrates Safo.

Speaking at the VGMA Experience Concert which came off at the Black Star Square on Saturday, May 11, Samini said he stood tall among all the artistes he is competing with.

“I have been around for more than a decade and I have been relevant. Ever since I dropped Linda in 2006 till now, I have constantly come out with good songs and I think I deserve to win the Artiste of the Decade,”

Shatta Wale

in a post shared on his Facebook Wall, he captioned:

My name was Bandana from 2003-2004

Changed my name from Bandana – Shatta Wale?
In 2009

2010- 2011 I released a street Bangers

2013 I came back strong with Dancehall king ?

And up until now 2019 I have my current song in the system “MY LEVEL”

Who ever came back hard like me like this should own up so we can all praise the Good Lord together .

But if you know ,you have haven’t been on a journey like this ,Don’t come competing because I was never in a competition with anybody but the industry made it seem so !!!

I won’t worry myself to fight for what rightfully belongs to me.i will rather share my story to the world to motivate the younger generation today..

I have done what Napoleon couldn’t do ..

For sarkodie his fans seem to be doing all the work for him, although he has made social media post and campaigns asking for his fans to vote for him.

Efya in an interview with Joy News said:

“I have been doing ‘Girl Talk’ for four years, it is the only show in Ghana that brings all the women together and I have sold out every show, relevance. I have collaborated with at least more than 10 international African artistes and made hits, relevance”.
