Today has been a very interesting day following the final decision of the VGMA board on what transpired between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy on the night of the main event.

We reported that the two dancehall acts have been banned indefinitely and stripped off all awards they won on the night and had been asked to return the plaques back to the organizers.

Prior to that announcement, Shatta Wale had already sent a notice out to all Ghanaians that he would not want to be part of the Ghana Music Awards scheme going forward.

He also made a certain post on his Facebook story which probably meant that the event organizers betrayed him.

Somewhere in 2014, Shatta asked that he should not be nominated but few months ago, we realized he took a photo with the CEO of Charterhouse. Information we gathered revealed that the two entities had made amends and would be working together henceforth to make the award scheme a much patronized one as this year marks 20years of its existence.

Shatta Wale on the other hand promoted the event and campaigned to fans to vote for him massively to emerge winner in the categories he got nominations in.

After today’s verdict by the VGMA board, Shatta wrote that he tried, sat with them and accepted their offer to come on board  again but not knowing they had their own intentions.

This simply means they betrayed him and probably didn’t go according to what was planned and now, there’s even a case in court against him which was reported by these same people.

It’s just sad knowing all these are happening just because both parties who were at the event to entertain and get honored just couldn’t control their anger.
