Highlife singer, Okurasini Samuel has registered his displeasure about Amakye Dede crowning Kuame Eugene as the new Highlife King at 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
Before the chaos erupted between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, there was another unforgettable drama on the night as legendary Highlife artist Amakye Dede, after performing with the Lynx Entertainment artist proceeded to bestow on him accolades of a New Highlife King.
He put a crown on Eugene’s head amidst ‘incantations’ whilst the audience looked on in surprise. The issue has since generated a lot of buzz on the internet with some questioning the real motive behind the ‘fake coronation’ they enacted on stage.
Okurasini Samuel, a former participant of TV3’s Mentor, fired Amakye Dede for what he did, saying Kidi is even better than his record label mate so he doesn’t understand Amakye Dede of all people will indulge in such child play.
Okurasini revealed this in an interview Prime TV. He said: “Every Highlife Legend knows Kidi is better than Kuami Eugene.”
He went on to say Kidi is far better than his partner at Lynx Entertainment because his songs are timeless.
