‘Tis the season of music festivals. In recent years, at least, staging a concert in the last quarter of the year has virtually become a prerequisite in their claim to a seat at the high table of contemporary Ghanaian Pop.
This past weekend was rapper Sarkodie’s turn. On-brand, the SarkCess CEO drew thousands for a health walk, Saturday, October 26, And a star-studded concert Sunday, October 27 in his native Tema.
The maiden edition, the Tema Music Festival is expected to become a perennial event that heralds the Rapperholic Concert.
The Tema Music Festival came off at the Chemu Park (Tema Community 7). The roster of A-list supporting acts includes but is not limited to MEDiKAL, R2Bees, EL, Dope Nation, Kuami Eugene, Stonebwoy, Tinny, Opanka, Tulenkey, Edem, DarkoVibes among others.
Sarkodie is the author of six albums and set to headline the eighth annual Rapperholic Concert, December 25. Days ago, published “Party and Bulls#it,” which finds him enlisting UK stars Donae’O and Idris Elba as guest acts.
