Sarkodie, Efya To Speak At ACCES 2019

The skies of Ghana will sparkle when a galaxy of stars from GH, other African countries and the Diaspora come together for this year’s Music In Africa Conference for Collaborations, Exchange and Showcases (ACCES) which comes off on Thursday, November 28 and ends on Saturday, November 30

Ghana’s stars such as multiple award-winning rappers, Sarkodie, Samini, Efya, Ebo Taylor, Bibie Brew, Yaa Yaa, Wanlov the Kubolor among others will join musicians and industry professionals from more than 50 countries to be part of this year’s edition which will be held at the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences, Alliance Francaise and GoldCoast Pub, Accra.

In a press statement to announce activities for this year’s ACCES, planners of the event, Music In Africa said this year’s program features an exciting roster of musicians and industry experts from all corners of the globe.

“Five-time Grammy nominee, Akon is one of the leading speakers at this year’s event. The global superstar joins a star-studded line-up that includes top Ghanaian musicians and music experts such as Sarkodie, Efya, Samini, Kyekyeku, John Collins, Ebo Taylor, Bibie Brew and Wanlov the Kubolor,” the statement said.

Other notable speakers and facilitators at ACCES 2019 will be Chocolate City Record Label’s Vice-President Aibee Abidoye (Nigeria), Ditto Music Founder and CEO Lee Parsons (UK), Airforce1 Records Managing Director Joe Chialo (Germany), Gallo Music Group General Manager Rob Cowling (South Africa) and Boulevard Festival co-director, Hicham Bahou (Morocco).

The rest are TRUE Africa founder and editor-in-chief Claude Grunitzky (Togo/UK), Simfy OTT music services head, Oye Akideinde (Nigeria), Boomplay Ghana manager, Elizabeth Ntiamoah, Nyege Nyege Festival co-founder Derek Debru (Belgium/Uganda) and Grammy-nominated musician, author and rights activist Mark Levine (US).

ACCES 2019 will feature energetic performances from Mokoomba (Zimbabwe), Songhoy Blues (Mali), GatoPreto, Arka’n (Togo), Sibusile Xaba (South Africa), Ifrikya Spirit (Algeria), Lúcia de Carvalho (Angola) and Bholoja (eSwatini).

The Ghanaian team of Yaa Yaa, Kyekyeku, FOKN Bois, Cina Soul and FRA are billed for performances too.

The conference will also honor music legends, Ebo Taylor and Bible Brew for their outstanding contribution to music in Africa and across the world.

In its third year, ACCES, launched in Dakar, Senegal in 2017 is a leading pan-African music business event that features curated panel discussions, exhibitions, production workshops and live performances by music acts from Africa and the Diaspora.
