Popular Ghanaian rapper and hip life artiste, Maradona Yeboah Adjei, widely known as ‘Guru’ has reveal why he was accused of being a fraud/sakawa guy.

According to the rapper, he was tagged as a fraud/sakawa guy  because he was financially stable enough to buy a car at a young age.

In an interview with Abeiku Santana on his ‘Atuu’ programme, he said; “When I featured Obrafuor in ‘Kasiebo’, I bought my personal car. It was one of these Corolla cars. When I was balling in town with the car, I was accused of money rituals,”

He also added that, being falsely accused of fraud and money rituals was not new to him.

“I have heard people call me game boy several times,” he said.

He however advised that the fact that a young person is living a well-to-do or rich lifestyle does not necessarily mean he/she is into fraud.

“Here in Ghana, everyone feels that any young man living a financially stable life is involved in fraud, but that isn’t always the case. The economy we live in makes it difficult for a young person to even buy a bicycle; so when you are driving a car, then you have a problem,” he concluded.
