Twitter has been buzzing for hours over yet another year of return saga.
Social media has made jokes about “The Year Of Return” for a while, but this one is real and very interesting.
Who is Mutombo?
Mutombo is a Ghanaian photographer and poet known mainly for his works on Instagram, and his Twitter fanbase.
How it all started
So Mutombo promised his Twitter followers that he was preparing to tell them a story, one about himself which really got to him, days ago.
Keeping his promise the photographer served the hungry fans at this point with “the story of how he got scammed by a young American lady who visited Ghana in celebration of the year of return”.
What Really Happened?
Long story short (as narrated by Mutombo), He met this lady at the Kotoka International Airport who he gave a free ride to her hotel because she claimed her friends in Ghana had ditched her on arrival. [the lady is known as queendouble_g on Instagram and introduced herself to Mutombo as Jigi]
He goes on about how he paid for her food, got drugs for her, got her a new sim card, and even paid for her hotel bill that night, [she kept reminding Mutombo that she was going to return his money to him when she because she only had dollars on her at the time].
…Only for Mutombo to get blocked by the lady after telling him, he won’t pay the money back to him anymore. [See screenshot below]
He had only been chatting with her on Instagram since they met so he devised a way to track her down and get his money back. [The total of everything spent on the lady that day was 350ghs, he claims]
Truly Mutombo worked with his friends to track the lady down through Instagram and convinced her to show up for a modeling business.
It was when Jigi appeared at the meeting venue [Trade Fair] when Mutombo and his friends hustled the girl to pay back the money after visiting 3 ATM Machines with her. [Watch in the videos below]
What Jigi is saying
Meanwhile the lady in the video, Jigi is saying that yes! Mutombo did most of the things he said he did for her, but he clearly made it known that he was doing it for free … Also, he came back to his hotel the next day asking for sex, …and that she blocked him because he all of a sudden became aggressive about getting his money back.
