Fans of Tupac Shakur get angry at a statue of their rapper that didn’t look like him.

The statue was intended to portray the “All Eyez on Me” rapper.

The statue in the photograph once stood outside the Tupac Amaru Shakur Arts Center in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Founded in 1997, Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur, opened the to help provide opportunities for children interested in the arts. In August 2015 Shakur sold the center for 1.2 million over a decade after its opening. She’d also removed the statue from the house.

Jim Burnett, who renamed the property to Peace Garden Park and Amphitheater back in 2017, revealed his plans to replace the monument. To recreate the monument, Burnett hired artist Nijel Binns to look more like the deceased raper. The new statue has yet to be revealed, although a teaser appeared about three years ago.

Social media, however, weren’t buying it. Twitter users have been quick to point out the discrepancies between the rapper and the facial features of the statue.

“Looks like this was the template photo but they failed terribly ….Whom ever did the statue……we need a refund,” one Twitter user said.
