Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) invites applications from suitably qualified persons for appointment into the following positions in the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) ;
1) DISTRICT SECRETARY (ASSISTANT SECRETARY II)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Interested applicants must be a professional teacher not below the rank of Principal Superintendent with not less than three(3) years working experience in that rank
- Interested applicants must not be below 35 and must not be more than 45 years
- Interested applicants must have a commitment to GNAT and what the union stands for
- Interested applicants must be a working knowledge in basic computer application in Word Excel and PowerPoint is an advantage
- Interested applicants Management and Leadership skills
- Interested applicants must have Pleasant interpersonal skills* Strong advocacy and communication skills
- Interested applicants Must have Good character
RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be responsible to the General Secretary through the Deputy General Secretary in charge of Finance
2) ACCOUNTANT
QUALIFICATIONS
- Interested applicants must possess a first degree in accounting, or finance, or ICA II, or ACCA II, or CIMA II
- Interested applicants must have a masters degree in Accounting/Finance or a related field will be an added advantage
- Interested applicants must have work experience as an accountant do not less than ten(10) years, three (3) years of which should be at management level
- Applicant from the Ghana Education Service must not be below deputy chief accountant
- Interested applicants must have working knowledge in basic computer application in word excel, PowerPoint and software in accounting will be an added advantage
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Reviews, prepares and posts journal entries
- Reconciles sub-ledger to generate ledger account balances
- Plays a key role in the monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing processes
- Assist with budget preparation and monthly actual vs budget variance analysis
- Assist with assessment of internal controls, including risk assessments and review of risk areas
- Prepares and reviews task returns for various tax agencies
- Maintains and reconciled fixed asset schedules
- Provide assistance to internal and external audit functions including preparation of audit schedule
- Management and Leadership skills

- Strong advocacy and communication skills
- Good character
