Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) invites applications from suitably qualified persons for appointment into the following positions in the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) ;

1) DISTRICT SECRETARY (ASSISTANT SECRETARY II)

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Interested applicants must be a professional teacher not below the rank of Principal Superintendent with not less than three(3) years working experience in that rank
  2. Interested applicants must not be below 35 and must not be more than 45 years
  3. Interested applicants must have a commitment to GNAT and what the union stands for
  4. Interested applicants must be a working knowledge in basic computer application in Word Excel and PowerPoint is an advantage
  5. Interested applicants Management and Leadership skills
  6. Interested applicants must have Pleasant interpersonal skills* Strong advocacy and communication skills
  7. Interested applicants Must have Good character

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be responsible to the General Secretary through the Deputy General Secretary in charge of Finance

2) ACCOUNTANT

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Interested applicants must possess a first degree in accounting, or finance, or ICA II, or ACCA II, or CIMA II
  2. Interested applicants must have a masters degree in Accounting/Finance or a related field will be an added advantage
  3. Interested applicants must have work experience as an accountant do not less than ten(10) years, three (3) years of which should be at management level
  4. Applicant from the Ghana Education Service must not be below deputy chief accountant
  5. Interested applicants must have working knowledge in basic computer application in word excel, PowerPoint and software in accounting will be an added advantage

JOB DESCRIPTION

  1. Reviews, prepares and posts journal entries
  2. Reconciles sub-ledger to generate ledger account balances
  3. Plays a key role in the monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing processes
  4. Assist with budget preparation and monthly actual vs budget variance analysis
  5. Assist with assessment of internal controls, including risk assessments and review of risk areas
  6. Prepares and reviews task returns for various tax agencies
  7. Maintains and reconciled fixed asset schedules
  8. Provide assistance to internal and external audit functions including preparation of audit schedule
  9. Management and Leadership skills
  10. Pleasant interpersonal skills
  11. Strong advocacy and communication skills
  12. Good character

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible to the General Secretary through the Deputy General Secretary in charge of Finance
