What we call in Ghana ‘Kanzo’ which is the browned rice at the bottom of the cooking pot is being called scorched rice in United States.

Interestingly, it has a high price tag of $7.58 which is 40.97 when converted to Ghana cedis.

These photos were captured by ‘Girls Prefect’ Nana Aba Anamoah who’s currently furthering her education at Harvard University.

Scorched rice at the bottom of the cooking pot is a thin crust of slightly browned rice, also known as crunchy rice. It is created from a flame while rice is cooked over direct heat.
