Jeff Bezos buys the most expensive mansion in Beverly Hills.

Jeff Bezos, the richest man in the world, has acquired a new mega mansion worth a whooping $165 million in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, a record purchase.

The Georgian-style home has 13,600 square feet of spacious terraces and gardens, two guesthouses, nursery and three hothouses, tennis court, swimming pool, nine-hole golf course and motor court complete with its own garage and gas pumps.

The nine-acre estate once belonged to the late Warner Bros president, Jack Warner, according to the Wall Street Journal, and the amount paid by Bezos, worth $131 billion, is the largest amount paid for a single-family home in Los Angeles.

Jeff Bezos, who with his partner Lauren Sanchez was house hunting, bought the house from David Geffen, a media mogul.

Ann Warner, Jack Warner’s widow, allegedly declined an offer of $25 m for the estate after he died in 1978, meaning she would live there until she died until Geffen broke national records when he purchased the estate for $47.5 m. Now Amazon and Washington Post owner Bezos has set another record with the acquisition.

The previous residential record was set late last year, when media executive Lachlan Murdoch, Rupert Murdoch’s son, paid $150 million for the Bel-Air estate used as the Clampett home in The Beverly Hillbillies television show.
