Organisers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards has explained why Wendy Shey’s ‘Steve Wonder’ song was nominated.

The nominees list for the 2020 VGMA has been released and unfortunately, one of the proper bangers under the year in review, Wendy Shay’s Stevie Wonder song which topped various chart shows was not nominated.

According to the PRO of Charterhouse, Robert Klah, they did not nominate the song because it featured Shatta Wale who’s not legible to participate in the nominations.

Speaking with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, Robert Klah said, “Songs that featured Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy were not eligible for nominations in the VGMA because those acts have been banned from the scheme, hence, Wendy Shay’s song which has Shatta Wale on it was not nominated”

He continued, ” The issue about the collaboration, there are two things: It is meant to consider not just one artistes. If one of the artistes is illegible to participate, they wouldn’t get a nomination.”
