confirmed to Citi News.

This past week, there were 13 new cases of the novel coronavirus infection.

At least three of those cases were thought to be spreading to the population.

Cases in Africa have reached 1,000 with the worst affected being Egypt, South Africa and Algeria.

Overall, with over 11,921 deaths, more than 287,239 people worldwide were infected with the virus.

For most people, coronavirus causes only mild to moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough, but in some cases serious illnesses resembling extreme pneumonia have been noted; particularly in elderly people and people with pre-existing conditions.
