Covid-19: Kwahu Traditional Council Declares ‘Lockdown’ Amid Coronavirus Scare

The Chiefs of Kwahu Traditional Area have issued a statement ordering natives of the land to restrict their movements amid to coronavirus scare in the country.

This according to Chiefs is part of measures to help prevent the spread of the Coronavirus disease in Ghana.

From the statement, people residing in the traditional area should desist from moving out of the place during these distressing times.

According to them, Kwahu has an appreciable population of old people who stand a higher risk should there be an outbreak in the area.

The statement indicated that all social gathering during this period should be halted until further notice.

However, as at today 26th, March 2020 at 11:30 am, confirmed cases of coronavirus in Ghana increased from 68 to 132 with 3 Deaths and still no recoveries.

All the three (3) cases that unfortunately succumbed to the disease were aged and had underlying chronic medical conditions.
