COVID-19: Lockdown Of Greater Accra, Kumasi Begins | This Is What Nana Addo Has To Say

Loads of military and police troops are in action as partial lockdown has started in Kumasi, Accra, Tema and Kasoa, President Nana Addo has begged Ghanaians to stay home to prevent Coronavirus from spreading.

Accra, Tema, Kumasi and Kasoa’s two-week partial lockdown is in place as Ghana is starting its most aggressive effort to combat the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Ghana’s case count for coronavirus has risen from 137 to 152 in the time between the partial lockdown announcement on March 27 and its start today, Monday 30 March 2020.

One person has also died in the period raising Ghana’s death count to five.

While some roads were empty of activity, others had some police presence for the lockdown to be implemented.

During a partial lockout for two weeks, residents in impacted areas are urged to leave their homes only in search of critical products or events.

President Nana Addo has urged Ghanaians to obey rules and regulations to make this exercise a success for the country.
