Forbes Africa has released it’s 30 Under 30 list for 2020 and three Ghanaians; Wisdom Mawuli Parku, 26, Lewis Appiagyei, 16, and Scilla Owusu, 23 are the reps for Ghana.

Celebrating six years of the FORBES AFRICA 30 Under 30 list, the shortlisted men and women who made this list were described as “credible, creative and profound strategies to shape our tomorrow”.

Out of the 3,000 nominations which flooded the desks of Forbes Africa in the beginning of 2020 which marks a new decade commencing a new set of daunting challenges for the world – the coronavirus, Forbes Africa has still managed to delve and released the 2020 list of 30 under 30.

Forbes AFRICA team again taking into consideration the tragic beginning of 2020 attributed individuals who made the list by noting “they are the continent’s revolutionary thinkers revitalizing ideas and industries with fresh business models and innovative leadership”.

Through the various fields of selections, the three Ghanaians who made the 2020 list were from a diversified holdings, Sports and entertainment industries.

Below are the 2020 Forbes Africa’s 30 under 30 from Ghana:

Wisdom Mawuli Parku, 26.

Wisdom Mawuli Parku is the founder of Majora Group. Majora Group began in a mining community and town called Obuasi in Ghana in 2017 with subsidiaries in travel, education, consultancy, photography and printing.

Wisdom Mawuli Parku success story came came about when he had plans to travel to the US but it was futile at the end.

“I lost over GHC3,000 ($541) when I had wanted to travel to the US in 2014 and consulted a travel and tour company on campus. My visa was sadly turned down but it spurred me to conduct a detailed research in the traveling and ticketing industry, hence the birth of Majora Group,” he tells FORBES AFRICA.

Majora Group began in a mining community and town called Obuasi in Ghana in 2017 with subsidiaries in travel, education, consultancy, photography and printing.

Passionate about developing Ghana, Mawuli serves as the executive director for Vision Aid Foundation.

Lewis Appiagyei, 16.

Lewis Appiagyei is the youngest in this year’s Forbes Africa 30 under 30 list.

His love for car racing made him to set a his first Guinness World Record for the fastest lap driven on the Laguna Seca Circuit in virtual racing on PlayStation3 at the age of 10.

As of today, Aprill 4, his record is still unbeaten.

While many boys his age were playing with toy cars, he raced to fame following in the tyre tread of Lewis Hamilton, one of his heroes.

Scilla Owusu, 23

Scilla Owusu is Video Director, Producer, Screenwriter, and Founder of Youngtrepreneurs.

She has worked with renowned musicians like Davido, Burna Boy, Sarkodie, Mr Eazi, Patoranking, Diamond Platnumz, Morgan Heritage, Wande Coal and Maleek Berry.

She won an award at the Screen Nation Films and Television Awards in 2016 from her passion in screenwriting which led her to launch her first six-part series titled “A Lesson Learnt” that she wrote and produced.

Following this success, Owusu dove into the world of music video production at the age of 19.
