Madam Cecilia Abena Dapaah, Minister of Sanitation & Water Resources in a press conference has instructed persons who own standpipes and charge at a fee should give out the water for free.
President Nana Akufo Addo in his fifth nations address indicated that government was going to absorb water bills of all Ghanaians for the next three months, April, May and June.
He also added that they’ll be constant supply of water and electricity during the coronavirus time as the two government institutions have assured him.
Well, in clarifying what the President has said, Minister of Sanitation and Water Resoures, Madam Cecilia Abena Dapah said in a press conference that stand pipe owners who sell their water should give them out for free.
According to her, since government will be absorbing the water bills of Ghanaians for April, May and June, there’s no need to charge persons who buy from them anymore.
