COVID 19: Two Nigerians Arrested In A Taxi In Accra Test Positive For Coronavirus Amid Lockdown

Two Nigerian nationals who were arrested by the police during partial lockdown have tested positive for COVID 19.

The two individual who were stopped during the lockdown while on board a taxi could not give tangible reason as to where they heading to or where they from hence were arrested.

Further investigations by the police triggered a medical test at Ridge Hospital.

According to a news reporter, Umaru Sanda from CITI NEWS;

on April 5, they [Police] found them moving with a taxi driver. The police noticed that there were inconsistencies in their answers. When asked where they were coming from, they said they came from Niger and had their luggage on them. The police took them into custody and then to the Police hospital and eventually to the Ridge Hospital where they had their samples taken.

After conducting the tests, their results came back positive.

Ghana as of today 13th April 2020 has recorded 566 cases with 8 deaths and 4 recoveries.
