Abba Kyari, Chief of Staff to Nigerian’s President Muhammadu Buhari has died after battling with complications related to the novel Coronavirus.

According to reports, he tested positive for the novel coronavirus in March after travelling to Germany with a delegation of other Nigerian officials for meetings with Siemens AG.

Announcing his the death, presidential spokesman Femi Adesina stated that Abba Kyari died on Friday, April 17.

The Presidency regrets to announce the passage of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari. The deceased had tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19 and had been receiving treatment. But he died on Friday, April 17, 2020.
