In his ninth address to the nation about COVID-19, President Akuffo Addo advised Ghanaians to enhance and adapt hygienic lifestyle to boost our immune system in order to help fight the spread of COVID-19.

According to him, if we adhere to his advice and practice healthy lifestyles, such as regular exercises, observing personal hygiene and healthy eating, our immune system would be able to fight against the virus and other diseases.

Adding that, Ghana has been so blessed that most of our foods such as oranges, kontomire, millet, cashew nuts, crabs, plantain, okro, dawadawa, brown rice, and mushroom can boost our immune systems and help fight the virus and other diseases hence he advised that we eat such foods.

He also added that we will continue to practice social distancing protocols in order to help curb the spread of the disease as it’s one of the safest measures which will help the virus not to spread easily and fast.

We have to improve our hygiene, our fitness, and exercise, our eating, generally, our style of living, which will boost our immunity to disease and the virus. We are told that the key vitamins that fortify our immune system are vitamins A, B6, C, and E. Fortunately for us, in Ghana, all of these can be found in many of our foods, such as oranges, kontomire, millet, cashew nuts, crabs, plantain, okro, dawadawa, brown rice, and mushrooms.

he said

Following a good diet, patronizing our healthy foods, exercising regularly, ensuring our personal hygiene, and improving our lifestyle habits should become part and parcel of our daily routines, which would help bolster our immune systems and help us in the fight against the pandemic. These measures must be respected by all”
