A nurse who resides in the northern region and works with Tamale Teaching Hospital has been arrested together with her husband ” Muniru Mohammed”, at Kukuo for breaching the ban on all social gatherings by the president.

Recently, the president of Ghana brought out some directives for Ghanaian citizens to adhere to amid COVID-19. Among the rules brought to notice was the ban on all social gatherings with the aim of maintaining the spread of the virus among ourselves and to protect the vulnerable from being exposed.

As the number of confirmed cases keep rising, he urged all Ghanaians to adhere to the precautionary measures put in place to combat the virus. He also gave a strong warning that any individual who would go against the said directives should be arrested.

Some people seems to be stubborn as they continue to go against the ban on social gathering.

The couple was arrested for organizing an outdooring for their one-week newborn child in a suburb of Tamale despite the risk involved in getting exposed to the virus. The police upon hearing this, arrested the father for questioning and to be punished for not adhering to the restrictions imposed on social gatherings.

He is to face the court for prosecution on Thursday.
