54yrs Old Man Arrested For Sharing Nude Pictures and Sex Videos Of His 18yrs Old Ex-Girlfriend In Awukugua

A resident of Awukugua, “Nana Yaw Mante” has been charged according to section  281(i) B of the Criminal Offence Act,29/60 for obscenity contrary, after he circulated nude and sexual videos of his ex-girlfriend at  Koforidua District Magistrate Court.

The court session was led by  His Worship, Nana Osei Assibey, and the prosecutor in charge,”Sergeant George Defia” on Tuesday dated May 19, 2020.

According to the prosecutor, the 54 years old convict, is a businessman whereas his 18 years ex-girlfriend is a school drop out who could not continue her education due to financial constraints.

He added that, the victim and the accused, met 2 years ago after which he used the excuse of helping her due to her financial challenges, to engage her into a relationship with intimacy.

After her family was notified about their relationship, they reached out to the man and questioned him if he was into any sexual affairs with their daughter but he denied. Thereafter, her family warned him to stay away as he was taking advantage of her due to her financial challenges, which led to their breakup.

The prosecutor told the court that, in 2019, the accused convinced the victim to continue with their relationship after which, he lured her to film series of sex videos of themselves at Dawu near Adukrom-Akuapem.

She agreed to that after he lied to her about the gods requesting to see her naked pictures because he did not want to lose the victim.

Few months after he recorded the videos with her, he sent them to the victim’s Aunty and the other two she was allegedly dating. Soon after he forwarded to her people, it got leaked on all social media platforms which went viral and in turn tarnished the girl’s image in February 2020.

The accused was taken into police custody on 7th February 2020, after the victim sent his report to the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit at the Regional Police Headquarters in Koforidua.

During their investigations, the accused accepted that he recorded the video and shared with the three people mentioned but denied uploading it on social media platforms.

Trial for the case has been scheduled for 27th May where as the accused has also been bailed.
