Mr. Joginder Nyaga ” A pickup driver” with registration number, KCJ 960Z has been arrested by a Police patrol officer for causing an accident on Thursday, at Mombasa road, involving three cars which led to serious traffic around Vision Plaza.
The driver after causing the accident vacated the accident scene and changed his direction, which made the patrolling police officer chase him back to the scene for more clarification.
“The pickup driver who was in the inner left lane changed lanes without any indication and hit a Toyota which veered off the road and hit a Range Rover,”
“After causing the accident, the driver of the pickup drove off, so I decide to follow him knowing other officers will come to the scene. I found him in Embakasi. He denied liability although his vehicle had a dent due to the impact of the accident,”
The police added
One of the victims involved in the accident, ” driver and owner of Toyota Caldina KBK 430X” who was identified as Mr. George Kinyangi, indicated that the accused caused the accident because he wanted to overtake his car and also seemed to be in a hurry to attend to an urgent situation.
“When I saw him approaching, I tried to change lanes, so I veered off the road and hit a Range Rover, which was on the other lane. After hitting me, the pickup driver drove off,”“I need to go to the police first then head to the hospital, I think I have injured my right hand because I feel pain,”
said Mr Kinyangi.
The third victim was a driver of a Range Rover, who was able to drive to the Police Station of Industrial Area, where the case was reported to for further action.
Among the two victims involved, only Mr. Kinyangi got injured with pain on his right hand, initiating intense pain.
