In response to this, Mr. Drew’s record label Highly Spiritual released a press statement to address the theft accusation.

Speaking to Zionfelix in an interview, Mr. Drew revealed that after he did the cover song to Rotimi’s original song he made Rotimi aware that he had done a cover to his song.

He further revealed that he never stole the American singer’s song because he credited him duly in every situation.

However, he admitted that their publisher on YouTube may have made a mistake in monetizing the video on YouTube because he was informed not to monetize the video since it was a cover to Rotimi’s song.

Mr. Drew further noted that people are saying that he stole someone’s song are just illiterate and dumb because they do not understand what a cover song is.

He added that when someone is doing a cover song to an original song, it is not necessary to inform the person, however, you just need to credit the person.
