A resident of Walewale “Amadu Yussif ” has been shot in the buttocks amid gunshots which were fired by the police after they stormed a night club “Next Level Club” in Walewale, when some men allegedly held a disco jam in the club breaching the restrictions on social gatherings and night pubs.
The 15 years old victim was part of the group of boys, who were having fun in the pub and he got injured as a result of the police cops retaliating amid the stones that were thrown against them when they flounced the pub.
DSP Paul Peter Akabati, the police commander for Walewale Police District command, speaking with 3 news.com, indicated that, a report about a disco jam was made on Saturday around 11:30 pm after which a team of police was assigned to be on the action in order to halt the jam according to the directives of the president of Ghana.
He further added that his men fired gunshots but are not responsible for the shots on the buttocks of the victim. He added that, on the arrival of the cops at the pub, those outside the pub took to their heels which alerted the main culprits which led them to start running away from the scene.
Some residents at the pub started throwing stones at them in the attack which caused the police to retreat. The victim also climbed a nearby tree in the process. Afterward, the police retaliated following a gunshot shot, which got the victim. Hence they denied being responsible for the victim’s injury.
15 years Amadu Yussif was rushed to the hospital for treatment and the doctors initiated other alternative therapies, to aid in his health.
DSP indicated that the time of the shot would be divulged only after other investigations like x-rays and scans are conducted.
The victim still stands by his decision holding the police responsible for the injury on his buttocks. He explained that he was running to hide on the tree when he fell down as a result of the gunshot. He didn’t realize it until he saw blood at the injured site.
