SHS Final Year Student Arrested For Kidnapping His Nephews For ¢8,000

Police have arrested an Shs three student who in collaboration with his two other colleagues at large, captured his nephews in order to blackmail their parents for a huge amount of Ghana cedis 8,000, in a municipality of Komenda-Edina-Eguafo- Abrem in the central region of Ghana.

18 years old Daniel Wallace and the two accomplices, known to be final year students of Eguafo Senior High school (SHS), carried out their strategic plans on the 4th June 2020, which was a Thursday.

Paul Arkorful “Assemblyman for Kisi Electoral Area, in an interview with Ghana News Agency, explained that he was unaware of the incident until a resident telephoned him to report the case of the missing children.

According to him, members of the community were beseeched by the police officers to help retrieve the hideout of the culprit and to be able to bring back the two children safely. The queen mother of the area ” Kissi, Nana Efua Badu II” adhering to the pleading, of the police, teamed up with the police, to work in apprehending Daniel Wallace to ensure the safety of the children.

When Daniel Wallace was interrogated to be able to capture the other two accomplices, he refused to mention their names, which made it difficult to find the hideout of the other two accomplices who are yet to be identified.

To be able to arrest him red-handed, a woman disguised herself as a mother of the kidnapped kids to be able to work out the cash requested by the suspects. Pleading with them to reduce the price to be paid in order to release the kids, they agreed on an amount of 500 ghana cedis.

In an attempt to make the payment, they asked the MTN mobile money officials to block the number which would be used for transactions and to also retrieve the credential of the owner. In doing that, a hint was given to the police to then arrest Daniel in a town called kissi on June 6, which was a Sunday.

The Assemblyman, used that opportunity all criminal cases that have been complained to them, pleading to ensure good safety of his people.

The DSP Irene Oppong ” Public Relations Officer” in the central region” indicated that measures have been put in place to apprehend the other two accomplices who helped in kidnapping the children.
