A 92-year-old woman who lived in Kwame Peprakrom, a suburb of the municipality of Upper Denkyira, has taken her own life by hanging herself on a ceiling, tied with a combined piece of used clothes and mosquito net.
The deceased committed suicide in an unused room in her own home, which was built for her by her lovely children.
This has been a big blow to the family and people of Kwame Peprakrom, as they do not know the reason behind her suicide.
Speaking with Kasapa FM, the family explained that, before she was found dead, announcements and statements, were released to help search for her, after she went missing from Saturday, dated June 6, 2020,. Unfortunately after their final search, her body was found hanging in a room in the same home.
They explained that the deceased is married to an old man who is 70 years of age. The lifeless body of the deceased has been conveyed to the morgue of Dunkwa On-Offin Municipal Hospital for preservation and autopsy.
Dunkwa On-Offin Divisional Police Command has taken up the case after a complaint was lodged, to do a thorough investigation and to confirm if this was indeed a suicide.
