A female resident of Anambra State has been captured by the police for having in possession an aborted fetus covered and sealed in a bucket for burial after taking injections from a fake chemist to destroy the pregnancy.
The 24 years convict, identified as Chidera Nwaoga, was arrested by police operatives in collaboration with Nsugbe vigilante group on 20th June 2020, at around 9 pm when she was about to bury the foetus in the bush.
A quick search was done at the premises of the exposed quack chemist, where instruments and other leftover drugs used to induce the abortion, were retrieved.
The victim was rushed to the hospital to receive treatment due to severe loss of blood during the abortion.
The aborted baby has been buried following advise of an expert to avoid health hazards to the public domain.
