The Spaniard and FC Barcelona legend have been linked with the Barca job for the past few months. Mundo Deportivo’s Francesc Aguilar claims the Spaniard has accepted an offer from Bartomeu with the support of the squad. Quique Setien will end the current campaign or be replaced by Garcia Pimienta.

After declining the chance to coach Barcelona earlier this year, it appears Xavi Hernandez will eventually return to manage the club next season.

Mundo Deportivo journalist Francesc Aguilar has claimed that the former Blaugrana midfielder has apparently reached an agreement to run the affairs at Camp Nou.

According to the report, Xavi has accepted an offer from president Josep Maria Bartomeu with the support of the squad to take up the managerial office at the end of the season.

It also mentions that Quique Setien will either be allowed to conclude the current campaign with the Blaugrana or be replaced by Barca B coach Garcia Pimienta.

Setien appears to be walking on thin ice at the moment following a run of unfavourable results that saw the Catalans concede the top spot to Real Madrid in La Liga.

There have been many calls for his sacking in recent days and Xavi is one of the most popular names tipped to lead the Blaugrana from the dugout.
