The authorities of the Accra Regional Hospital have released a statement, to clear the air on allegations raised against them, about a missing dead body of a medical director from Rwanda, who died after contracting COVID-19.
The family of the deceased “Emmanuel Twagirayezu ” who died on July 9, had raised an alarm that the hospital buried their family member without their notice because they could not find his lifeless body at the hospital’s morgue.
The hospital’s management to clear the name of the hospital off the allegations has come to verify that, the body of the deceased was preserved in the hospital’s mortuary and the family members have been able to retrieve his body for burial.
“Management wishes to state that the body was available at the hospital’s mortuary and has been duly identified by members of the deceased’s family.
“However, the body has since been released from our Mortuary for the necessary burial arrangements,”
