Alleged scammer by name who hides behind brands like Kofi Annan and UN to give ‘unrecognized’ awards to public figures finally breaks his silence as he defends his awards as authentic and not fake.
In an interview with Joy News, Dr Fordjour, the initiator of the controversial leadership award scheme, titled Global Blueprint Excellence Award rubbished reports suggestion that the award scheme is a scam.
According to him, the award he gave the likes of Sarkodie, D-Black, Berla Mundi, and many other top personalities in Ghana is credible since he is an advocate of development and excellent leadership.
I am surprised because this is an open thing that we just held. If anybody has a problem with me or our institution, they should have contacted us for clarification…I have always been an advocate for development, excellence, and in honoring others and attaching ourselves to global icons and leadership we bring them out…
he said.

On Friday, August 28, 2020, some Ghanaian personalities were honored for their accomplishments in their various fields of endeavor.
Among the persons were Ashanti Regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Benjamin Antwi Bosiako alias Wontumi, rapper Sarkodie, Daughter of Glorious Jesus, Berla Mundi and DJ Black.
Global Leadership Service to Humanity Awards is the name of the award scheme and though the UN has no hand in it, it was made to like a UN-owned event.
The awardees were presented with plaques of “UN Kofi Annan Excellence Awards” which drew a link between the scheme, the UN, and the late Kofi Annan.
This award scheme was headed by Dr. Kwame Owusu Fordjour who stood by the image of the UN and Kofi Annan to honor their awardees.
The award was branded fake after a Twitter user by name @elvinnicks, called out Dr. Kwame Owusu Fordjour as a scammer who is hiding behind the UN and Kofi Annan Foundation brands to give fake awards to celebrities and public officials.
Social media have been buzzing with memes and comments about musicians, journalists and high personality profiles who received the award that they describe as a ‘monumental scam’.
