Michael Essien, ex-black midfielder, has landed his first coach appointment after he was made player-coach at Danish top-flight side, FC Nordsjælland.
The former Black Stars player shared this exciting news on his twitter handle as he wrote;
I am delighted to have joined the @fcnordsjaelland coaching staff as part of my development towards my full coaching license. I will also be assisting the players on and off the pitch as part of my role. #transitionontocoacching#yearoftransition#learning#coaching
Michael Essien is a Ghanaian retired professional footballer who played as a midfielder and currently a part of Danish Superliga club FC Nordsjælland’s coaching staff.
He has also been capped for the Ghana national team more than 50 times. Essien started his career playing for Liberty Professionals in Ghana.
