A youth group in Bole, the hometown of NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, is threatening to hit the streets against President Nana Addo, over a recent threat by the Akyems to ban former President John Mahama from campaigning on their lands.
The self-acclaimed Concerned Citizens of Gonjaland, say they would be compelled to retaliate in equal measure if the Akyems proceed with their intended ban on John Mahama.
Convener for the group, Haruna Mahama told local reporters that they are about serving the Bole Police with their letters to inform them about the demonstration, as required by the Public Order Act.
“We are demonstrating in support of former President John Dramani Mahama and to serve notice to a group called Concerned Citizens of Akyem that if former President John Dramani Mahama is banned from Akyem, so will President Nana Akufo-Addo be banned from campaigning in any part of Gonjaland,” Mahama noted.
