According to the Ghanaian boxer, he was offered an amount of GHC100,000 and a car to campaign for the ruling New Patriotic Party.

Ayitey Powers revealed that he rejected the offer because he cannot flow his stomach and betray Ghanaians.
According to Ayitey Powers, Ghanaian business mogul, Kenpong, was the one who pushed the deal after they had a meeting in Osu, Accra.

The Ghanaian boxer indicated that Ghanaians are suffering under this government, people have lost their jobs coupled with many other hardships, as such, he did not accept the offer.
