Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice president of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has on behalf of his party sent out heartwarming message to console former president, Jerry John Rawlings following the passing of his mother, Madam Victoria Agbotui on Friday, 25 September.
The Vice President, Dr. Bawumia this morning visited the Jerry John Rawlings and his family to commiserate him following the demise of his mother.
Dr. Bawumia shared photos which was taken in his visit to the family mourning their dead on his Facebook page.
In the photos, Dr. Jerry John Rawlings’ daughter, Dr Zanetor Rawlings together with First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman were seen in a ‘bewailing’ mood.
While sharing the pictures, Dr. Bawumia wrote:
This morning, I led a government delegation, on behalf of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to commisserate with former President of the Republic, H.E Jerry John Rawlings and family following the loss of his dear mother, Madam Victoria Agbotui.I expressed government’s deepest condolences to former President Rawlings and family for the loss.May Madam Victoria rest in peace.

This comes after John Dramani Mahama on behalf of the NDC comforted Jerry John Rawlings on the death of his mother.
The NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama was in a short statement described the loss of Madam Agbotui as a mutual one.

Explaining further, John Dramani Mahama said Mrs. Agbotui was always ready to offer wise advises whenever the two interacted.
He consoled President Rawlings and encouraged him to take heart as Mama had lived a full life and had seen it all.
The NDC flagbearer, John Mahama said:
“Mama was the kind of person one would assume would live forever…”
He also assured the NDC Founder that the NDC will participate fully in the funeral activities of the late Madam Agbotui.
