The Ghana Atomic Energy Commission, established by an Act of Parliament, Act 588 of 2000, as the sole Agency in Ghana responsible for all matters relating to peaceful uses of atomic energy, invites applications for the following position:
Transport Officer At Ghana Atomic Energy Commission
Responsibilities
• General administration of the Transport section with the responsibility for repairs, maintenance, and smooth running of the commission’s fleet of vehicles
• Supervise record-keeping of a logbook by drivers and to ensure timely servicing and renewal of documentation
• Responsible for training of subordinate staff
• Ensure efficient and effective management and control of the transport system
• Coordinate effectively with the institutes/cost centers on matters with respect to procurement and maintenance of vehicles
• Any other job assigned by the Director of Administration
Qualification
• Should possess a degree or equivalent certificate in Transport/Taffic Management, preferably a Master’s degree
• Must have a minimum of valid Ghanaian Driver’s License (D)
• Must have at least 10 years relevant experience
• Must have a minimum of 5 years experience at Senior Management level
• Leadership skills
• Monitoring and Evaluation skills
• Communication, report writing and presentation skills
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance
Estates Manager At Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (Deadline: 30th October 2020)
Responsibilities
• Assisting in the implementation of the commission’s strategic Plans with respect to infrastructural development
• Ensuring the effective maintenance of the commission’s properties
• Maintaining a healthy environment, both at the office and the residence
• Ensuring compliance with regulations and statutory documents in the area of estate management
• Effective supervision and coordination of projects of the commission
• Respond appropriately to emergencies that may arise and ensure appropriate actions are taken
• Responsible for the training of subordinate staff
• Ensure effective and efficient use of tools and machinery
• Any other job assigned by the Director of Administration
Qualification
• A minimum of a Master’s degree in civil engineering, architecture, quantity surveying, estate management or equivalent qualification
• A member of a recognized professional body in the field in relation to the above
• Must have at least 15 years of relevant experience
• Must have a minimum of 10 years experience at Senior Management level
• A complete understanding of any building software applications
• Knowledge of procurement and abreast of legislation in the building industry
• Knowledge of Project Management
• A good communication skill
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Director of Commercialization and Communication at Ghana Atomic Energy
Responsibilities
• Developing and implementing guidelines and procedures governing the commercialisation and communication activities of the commission
• Ensuring compliance with safety and quality control standards with respect to ISOs for customer satisfaction
• Promoting and marketing income generating activities of the commission by responding to industrial needs through technology transfer
• Facilitating the development, protection and management of intellectual property of GAEC research output
• Determining funding needs and prioritising resource mobilisation programmes domestically and internationally
• Coordinating with the various institutes and support services for effective and efficient management of the activities of the Directorate
• Formulating appropriate strategies and action plans to build a positive image of GAEC and promote its activities through the print and electronic media on peaceful application of nuclear and related technologies for social-economic development
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
• Any other job assigned by the Director General
Qualification
• Must possess at least a Master in Business Administration, Marketing option or Communication. A PhD in Marketing or Communication will be an added advantage
• Must have at least 15 years relevant experience
• Must have a minimum of 10 years experience at Senior Management level
• Must demonstrate knowledge and skills in marketing
• Must have good interpersonal relationship and communication skills
• Must not be more than 55 years
Director, Nuclear Power Institute (NPI) At Ghana Atomic Energy Commission
Responsibilities
• The director is to work closely with the Director-General to implement policies of the institute
• Manage, coordinate and steer the nuclear power infrastructure programmes, projects and activities throughout the nation
• Help develop expertise in the field of Nuclear Energy, Science and Technology
• Initiate new research proposals in accordance with the International Atomic Energy (IAEA) approved programme for Ghana abd co-ordinate research, scientific, technical and commercial activities in the institute
• Enhance the application of Nuclear science in the field of education and training for socio-economic development of the country
• Set priority goals for development of nuclear energy within the institute in line with the commission’s policy
• Drive the research adn technical operations of the institute, including commercialsation of research output
• Develop and implement the appropriate strategies and systems for effective co-ordination, monitoring and evaluation of research work within the institute
• Ensure a sound working environment conductive for the publication of research output
• Ensure the availability of funds for research purposes in the institute and
• Any other job that may be assigned by the Director-General
Qualification
• Must be a of a minimum rank of Principal Research Scientist/Principal Scientific Officer/Associate Professor
• Must possess a higher degree (PhD, DSc and D.Phil) in the Nuclear Science and Engineering or related fields
• Must have a minimum 10 years experience at Senior management level in a research institution or university
• Must not be more than 55 years
