Mr. Eazi has revealed on Twitter that Nigerian musicians Omah Lay and Tems have finally been released after being in Ugandan police custody since Sunday
Omah Lay and Tems were arrested after their performance on Sunday night at a concert held at Speke Resort Munyonyo along with his manager and events manager Prim Kasana by Katwe Police.
His arrest follows a public outcry by Ugandan entertainers who complained that the Ugandan Police have allowed international artists to hold concerts while the local ones are denied.
They are currently remanded in different prisons till Wednesday, December 16, following their arraignment before the Makindye Division court in Kampala on Monday.
The issue has generated a lot of debate on social media as other Nigerian musicians rally for the Nigerian government to intervene.
Fortunately, the pressure mounted on the Ugandan government has yielded results. This was confirmed by Mr.Eazi who said the duo have been released.
According to Mr. Eazi’s tweet, the case against the singer has been resolved and sends a big thank you to the government and the Chief of Justice in Uganda.
