Reminder: “No More Free Water To Ghanaians After 31st December” – GWCL Issues Statement

The Ghana Water Company Limited in a press statement have reminded Ghanaians that the free Water delivery to households will come to an end on 31st December.

The free water initiative was instructed by President Nana Akufo-Addo to Ghanaian households during the emergency of Coronavirus.

The purpose was to ensure Ghanaians wash their hands frequently to prevent the spread of the virus.

In press statement by GWCL, they wrote;

“31st December, 2020, marks the end of the Government’s directive to the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) to serve Ghanaians with water for free as part of measures to curb the rapid spread of the COVID-19 pandemic”, part of the statement reads.

“Customers of GWCL must please note, that from hence, the payment of water bill will be the responsibility of the customer.”
