The Bono Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe has alledged that the presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ex president John Dramani Mahama begged lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata before he accepted to represent him in court.
He made these allegations when he was hosting Nsempa Fie program on Wontumi TV, just yesterday January 17, 2021. Abronye DC as popularly known, claimed that he got this information from one of the top NDC officials whilst he was onboard a plane from Accra to Kumasi.
According to him, the top official who leaked this information to him on condition of anonymity, indicated that the NDC knew very well that the will loose the case but are only going to court just to please the supporters.
He further alledges that, the top official also told he (Abronye) that, lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata initially refused to represent Mahama due to the incompetent nature of his petition and the lack of legal basis for the reliefs sought.
While clarifying his allegations, he explained that, it took the intervention of Tsatsu Tsikata’s wife who after she was touched by Mahama’s act of crying uncontrollably for sympathy, before the revered lawyer finally agreed to his pleadings.
The loudmouth chairman of the NPP in his submissions clarified later that, the whistle blower happens to be one of the National executive members of the NDC who pointed out to him that the move was initiated to avoid disgracing John Dramani Mahama and to avoid public ridicule.
Abronye DC justified his claims by referring his listeners and viewers to ask about why Tsatsu Tsikata’s name was not on the first petition that was filed before the Supreme Court.
