The supreme court has dismissed John Dramani Mahama’s proposal to interrogate officials of the Electoral Commission led by Jean Mensa the chairperson

The former President who lost the December 7 elections is at the supreme court to challenge the 2020 general elections results especially the Presidential election.

The court is due to hear the matter on Tuesday, January 19, 2020. Mr. Mahama wants the Apex court to direct the EC Chairperson to admit to certain facts in her declaration.

Mahama also wants the EC Chairperson Jean Mensa to admit that she has since not made any other declaration of results.

He further wants the EC Chairperson to admit that the figures and percentages announced by her during this declaration if collated will come to 100.3% instead of 100%.

He finally wants the EC Chairperson to admit that the subsequent correction of results in statements issued by the EC is different from what candidates obtained as captured in the summary of results sheets published by the EC.

Meanwhile, according to news reports, instead of today, 19th January set for the hearing, the court has adjourned it to tomorrow 20th January for a pre-trial at 9:30 AM

Also Mr. Mahama’s motion he filed to ask the EC a few questions has been dismissed because he didn’t submit it earlier and the court will be strict to make sure within the 42 days, the petition will come to an end.

So basically the interrogation will be time wasting which might lead to the court not achieving it aim of finishing with the case within the 42 days.
