The National Communications Director for the opposition National Democratic Congress who also doubles as the Spokesperson for John Mahama‘s legal team, Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi has boldly reacted to the developments from the Day 7 of the Election petition hearing.

Sammy Gyamfi has indicated that, the NDC’s remains resolved and confident in their claims on the elections.

Ghanaians saw Day 7 of the hearings of the petition brought before the Supreme Court by Petitioner John Mahama who lost in the just ended elections.

Mahama has constantly expressed his displeasure over the final verdict and filed a petition asking the Supreme Court to bring finality to his claims.

It was a heated tussle between the witness of the Petitioner and the Lead Counsel for the 2nd Respondent during the cross-examination.

Akoto Ampaw questioned the witness on the figures on which the Petitioner claims was used to declare the final results.

According to Akoto Ampaw, it is erroneous for the Petitioner to use the wrong figures that were earlier declared by Chairperson as a basis for calling a rerun. Asiedu Nketia during the cross examination admitted to vital information asked by Akoto Ampaw.

Sammy Gyamfi in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosiisen show few hours after the hearing made bold declaration concerning the proceedings made so far.

Sammy Gyamfi who has been recognised as one of the outspoken and loyal NDC members expressed optimism in the case.

“They are now quoting our figures in the Court. They virtually quoted paragraph 12 of our petition. People should wait for Tsatsu Tsikata. We will serve whether it was a slip of tongue or deliberate. That will be the climax of the case. It is important for Ghanaians to watch. People’s credibility will be tested and all the claims will be settled”, Sammy Gyamfi noted.
