Rapper DBlack in his response to Ameyaw Debrah who was wondering why VGMA boards need to negotiate with Shatta Wale before lifting his ban also confirms artists earn nothing from the award scheme.
PRO of Charterhouse, Robert Klah, said in a phone interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM that the VGMA board has agreed to lift the ban on Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale.
Shatta Wale in a phone interview on Peace FM reacted to the new of VGMA board lifting the ban on him and Stonebwoy.
Shatta Wale said that the VGMA board don’t seem to take him and Stonebwoy seriously because if they have taken such a decision they need see them first before putting anything in the public.

He added that from the way VGMA board is behaving it seems they don’t want to respect him, Stonebwoy and all the artists in the Ghananian music industry.

This bold request from Shatta Wale to the organisers of the award has got many wondering including Ameyaw Debrah.
According to Ameyaw Debrah, the awards are organised by VGMA boards and not from any musicians pocket and hence there is no need to negotiate with Shatta Wale because he is just a benefiter.

Ah someone bans you from his awards, and now says he’s removed the ban and you’re saying he should have come to negotiate with you before lifting the ban?
Ameyaw Debrah’s post caused massive reactions between SM fans as many schooled him on the business side of music.
Rapper DBlack joined the conversation as he also agreed that VGMA boards should have informed Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy before lifting their ban.
Explaining further, DBlack said that the two artist are business men adding that no artist in Ghana can boldly say he or she has benefited from these award schemes.
No! He said inform him first officially so he is in the know before telling the public. We’re all running businesses . We as artists don’t benefit directly financially from most of these awards schemes. Guess who does ?
