Ghanaian renowned YouTuber and aeronautical engineer, Berthold Winkler, known professionally as Wode Maya has shared his story grass to grace story.
The Ghanaian gained fame when he began making videos about life in China. His visual contents went viral across the world, earning a high viewership on the YouTube channel.
Maya’s channel is ranked as one of the best in Ghana. Aside rapper Sarkodie who has 707K subscribers, Wode Maya is the second biggest Ghanaian on YouTube with 703K subscribers.
In an interview with Abena Yeboah, Wode Maya has revealed quitting the career he learnt (aeronautical engineer) to being a YouTuber is worth it.

Explaining further, Wode Maya stated that engineering can not be compared to YouTube in terms of finances.
Apart from YouTube revenue, Wode Maya said he gets deals and even some corporates and entrepreneurs pay him before he visits them to interview them and showcase their companies to the rest of the world, something his education background could not have helped him with.
Wode Maya, who has been a YouTuber for eight years, claims he only has five years left before quitting.
Wode Maya said he can choose to quit YouTube now and he will survive the rest of his life. Wode Maya detailed that he doesn’t live to impress others and hence he does not love to show off his worth.

Per reports, the popular YouTuber earns an average of $2,000 monthly with an extensive collection of engaging and high visual contents shot in China and other African countries. Wode Maya net worth is estimated to be in the range of $34,000 to $205,000.
