Information according to CBC news has it that the Covid 19 Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine jab should be suspended to people under age 55.

The Vaccine Committee of Canada recommends that people below age 55 should not receive the vaccine jab even though there is no record of a blood clot after 300,000 shots already given

The change is as a result of report from European countries with rare instances of blood clots in some immunized patients especially women of childbearing age

The blood clotting problem also has not been reported in people who have received mRNA vaccines like the Pfizer and Moderna products.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, Dr. Shelley Deeks, the vice-chair of NACI “substantial uncertainty” around cases of vaccine-induced thrombocytopenia (VIPIT) in people with low platelets, the committee is recommending the suspension of shots in all people under 55 as a “precautionary measure.”
