Sulemana Abdul-Samed aka Awutsey is believed to be Ghana’s tallest man at Nalerigu in the North-East region.

If stands up, you will quickly take a step back, miss a heartbeat, and look up to see where his body height ends.

JoyNews’ Mahmud Mohammed-Nurudeen met a young man at Nalerigu in the North-East region who calls himself the tallest man in the five regions of the north.

Residents also regard him as the tallest man in the country. But Sulemana Abdul-Samed was not born tall.

The 27-year-old was once a footballer who was nicknamed Peter Crouch. He was not born tall, but he says we woke up one day and realized he was increasing in size and height.

Our research at Ghanaeducation.org reveals he might be suffering from Gigantism.

Gigantism is an uncommon health condition that makes children grow very tall and fast. The abnormal growth in height is treatable, but once Gigantism affects a child, the symptoms may remain with him or her. He or she, however, needs regular medical checkups and support to live a normal life.

This is what Abdul-Samed, Ghana’s tallest man, has lacked all this while. Abdul-Samed aka Awutsey says he needs help since he is not feeling well.

Today, he cannot wear any standard sandals. In his own words, he was changing so fast and increasing day after day. If you met him after a week, you will notice he has increased in height. This abnormal increase in height is a medical condition.

He remains Ghana’s tallest man, so far. Ghana’s tallest man, Abdul-Samed, is an SHS graduate and operates a mobile money shop.
